Philip Thearle’s Autowerks began 32 years ago when Philip rented a single stall in a friend’s auto repair shop in Santee, CA.  Relying on his extensive collision repair and refinish training with Mercedes-Benz of North America and Celette, USA, he set out to provide his customers with repairs that were on par with factory specifications and to return the customers vehicle to pre-accident condition. This concept became his “touchstone” and has proven to be directly responsible for his immense growth and success.

As Philip Thearle’s Autowerks reputation grew, his business enjoyed substantial growth and success. At this time, his wife, son & daughter all came on board and Philip Thearle’s Autowerks became a full fledge family business. He eventually purchased the entire 14,000 sq. ft. facility and continued in his growth and success.

As his family business grew, Philip was able to look forward and see his future success would be limited unless he planned for an even larger facility. In 2002, he purchased a five acre parcel of land on a prime location in Santee, CA and began planning and designing his dream shop.

Three years later, in January 2005, Philip, his family and staff of more that 50 employees opened one of the most prestigious collision repair centers in North America. With this 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the most advanced collision repair equipment and technology available, Philip Thearle’s Autowerks continues to deliver the same quality of repairs that Philip delivered to his first customers in 1983.
